Krijn de Koning

It’s not only the intervention that’s a construct, the same holds true for the original situation: a reality which could just have easily been otherwise but which is what it is for some reason or discernible purpose.

Krijn de Koning’s (1963, The Netherlands) work relates to how we experience architectural space. Usually, de Koning creates site-specific works that question the character traits of a particular space. They are easily recognized by their strong visual language, rectangular architectural forms and colored surfaces. His work can best be described as sculpture, but also embodies the qualities of painting and architecture.
