Culture of Colors

“With color as its leitmotif, the exhibition reflects on art, culture, nature, sustainable developments, life in its various aspects, and the countless ways that color affects these issues.”
Hester Alberdingk Thijm, director AkzoNobel Art Foundation

With 'Culture of Colors', the AkzoNobel Art Foundation took you on a journey through the collection, where color was the common element, reflecting on art, culture, nature, sustainable developments and the countless ways that color affected these issues. The exhibition, just like the wider collection, has been set up as a web of thematic connections. The various rooms and cabinets opened diverse perspectives on the collection; these always remain interconnected. These connections and differing perspectives could be seen, literally. The lines of visibility offer exciting peeps of each of the display halls, yet these spaces remain intimate. Neither a traditional exhibition space nor a museum, this a dynamic and flexible space to encounter art. It is a place that inspires and encourages contemplation, research and innovation. Dynamic and changing, this is as it were a satellite of AkzoNobel - in constant motion.
