Remco Dikken
In his work, Remco Dikken (1981, the Netherlands) uses photos from history books as a source of inspiration. By using the stories in his paintings, they are taken out of their context and are given a new meaning. By adding alienating elements or texts to the canvas, a world is formed, that the viewer can interpret in their own way. Dikkens use of color and simple brush strokes give the work an almost abstract impression.
