Johannes Hüppi

The women in the works of Johannes Hüppi (1965, Switzerland) are representations of femininity. His pictorial language shifts between very personal as well as coolly detached. Hüppi takes the viewer on an intimate journey through landscapes, interiors and everyday life and dreams where his female main characters wait, walk, rest and surrender to the power of love. The romantic realist Hüppi leaves the further elaboration of these stories to the imagination of the audience.
