Jan van Duijnhoven

The works by artist Jan van Duijnhoven (1944, the Netherlands) are best described as concrete painting. He consciously reduces his color range to the pure color, white and the primary colors of the color spectrum. The result has no image or perspective and is dissolved in planes, loose forms and segments which generate new spatial combinations. Letting go the traditional focus point implicates the origination of installations of concrete painting in which the canvas is absent. The pure light, in its shimmering and serenity, is the base of Van Duijnhoven’s work.
