David Bade
You won’t see me engaged in empirical research, throwing something into a funnel to finally find the truth in the drop of fluid that remains after distillation. I rather think of myself as a colander, though it doesn’t go in every and any direction.

David Bade (1970, Curacao) creates drawings, paintings, sculptures and installations, often filled with color and with a humorous or critical tone. He uses unusual materials such as old sofas, clocks, polystyrene, rubber and dried plants. Bade is constantly adding new aspects to his work, mixing high and low culture into a colorful play of associations and references. Bade draws inspiration from both classical examples of art history and literature and contemporary consumer culture.
