Thom Puckey (1948, UK) is known for his provocative figurative sculptures. He mostly depicts naked women carrying weapons, such as guns, knives and rocket launchers. Puckey often executes his sculptures in bronze and marble, materials that in earlier times would have been used for important monuments. Puckey plays with this notion by using these materials to depict surprising subjects one would sooner expect to find on the internet than in a museum.
