Semâ Bekirović
My method usually consists of deciding on and implementing parameters, and letting the work ‘develop itself’. In this sense you could say that I am a spectator in my own practice; I allow the work itself and it's context to decide the outcome.

Semâ Bekirović (1977, the Netherlands) has always been inspired by scientific ideas and concepts. Her work deals with the supposed difference between culture and nature, as well as the obtaining (and letting go) of control. In her work she plays with the testing of laws of nature. For example by filming with a thermal camera how her hand slides over a statue and the image becomes visible through her body heat.
