Sandro Setola

For the longest time I’ve been motivated by the idea that everything is subject to certain natural laws and processes, or to be precise, natural phenomenon in combination with culture, whatever culture people still carry within themselves.

Sandro Setola (1976, the Netherlands) uses his work to describe a utopia—directly at times, but drawn as often with the outlines of its counterpart. He has shown to be constantly conscious of the fundamental, natural processes moving the world, conscious too of how these processes are impeded in urban society, and of the grim bleakness impedance may cause. When Setola shows us the problem a deep discomfort arises, but his utopia alleviates. It is work full of poetry, building on a language and a need, everyone carries within.
