Roy Villevoye
I want to understand who we are. I feel that travelling, meeting others and getting to know them, brings me closer to this understanding.

Roy Villevoye’s (1960, the Netherlands) colors are full of meaning. They speak of more than the formal, which can bring the mind to ponder; they speak of color’s wider social and political content: about the skin, identity and cultural structures of knowledge drifting into each other, unnoticed by the conscious mind. His work may be moving, intriguing or may sting, but it’s never without the beauty innate to being human, openly and honestly.
