Ronald Ruseler

I feel at home in the mysterious in-between. These are transitional zones, unshaped, seemingly without meaning or purpose; their very being purely the product of coincidence.

Ronald Ruseler (1950, the Netherlands) reconstructs as art the memories of his many travels. Through an intuitive use of color, symbolism, shape and size Ruseler gestures towards the places he once was. He works with various materials and in various techniques: oil paints, acrylics, lead, wood, ceramics and photography. He is a romantic whose work has contradictions fade into one another, while inviting the viewer into a metaphysical landscape.
