Nordine Sajot

I believe the language of the body has fundamental importance, because before any visual or spoken language it was the basis of relational questions in the struggle for survival and in the way of procuring food.

Nordine Sajot (France, 1975) is a multidisciplinary artist who works with photography, sculpture, video, and installation to study everyday human behavior. Her practice is rooted in anthropology and focuses on the body, food, and social rituals. She examines how people connect and how identity and status are expressed through ordinary actions. In her process, she often uses fragments rather than complete scenes to sharpen perception. By removing faces and broader context, she directs attention to posture, gesture, and physical interaction. Her work explores how private actions become shared cultural codes and how repeated everyday gestures shape social life.
