Michiel Hogenboom
Michiel Hogenboom (1967, The Netherlands) has worked in recent years on a series of paintings with ink on linen and acrylic paint on cotton - the images are loosely based on paparazzi and voyeurism photography. The often monumental canvases with large amounts of washed ink or acrylic paint are about involuntary intimacy and the complicity of the viewer, but mostly about the sovereign bather.
