Eva Crebolder
By composing with my objects, I always try to capture silence and turmoil in a single moment.

Though it is, of course, an expression based on the written word, ‘reading between the lines’ is somehow fitting for the work of ceramicist Eva Crebolder ( 1968, The Netherlands). Tenderness can be felt in everything she makes, offering itself through the imperfections the human hand unavoidably imparts its attempts at order with. Shapes are softly repeated, and as they combine we notice the spaces between their subtly undulating surfaces, capturing the chaos implicitly present in every structure.
