Margreet Kramer

In 2023, Margreet Kramer spent five weeks in an Artist in Residence (AIR) at Arte Ventura in Spain. In an isolated mountain environment with only her camera and tripod, she embraced the natural surroundings as a source of inspiration. During her residency, Kramer unexpectedly had access to orange trees, and a spontaneous morning ritual of picking oranges emerged. She extensively analyzed and documented this ritual, zooming in with her camera through video and photography.

This theme is central to Kramer’s work, focusing on everyday rituals and actions for contemplation versus mass/individual dynamics. Her work lies at the intersection of film/photography, visual arts, and documentary.
