Liet Heringa

This twofold process of control and surrender, technique and coincidence defines our work: the paradoxical combination of specialism and openness.

Nature—its continuous state of change, growth and decay—is the core of Liet Heringa’s (1966, the Netherlands) work. She researches the logic of natural processes. In her work, organic and natural objects and shapes coalesce—fruit, filaments, shells and flowers—into trees and panicles. To give shape to her ideas she uses a wide variety of materials, both perishable and imperishable, such as flowers, (bees)wax, rubber and clay.
