Beni Bischof
My works affect me when they start to drift away into surrealism. Yet not completely. Right on the border to surrealism is the place to be for me and my works.

Beni Bischof’s (1976, Switzerland) work is characterized by intuitive gestures, cynical humor and a clear preference for chaos. In his playful collages Bischof combines details from novels, magazine, advertisement and the virtual world. Bischof’s work can be read as an ironic commentary on the banality of everyday life. “Daily routine is boring somehow. My work is definitely a way to escape from that, pretty much my own universe with own rules”, says Bischof. His car floating series are about the alteration of forms; when altering the image of an object, it is often accompanied with a change of the object’s meaning or function. The cars seem to be floating out of an instant, which strikes the eye.
