Everything I make is something I miss or long for. I think that in everyday life we are so much in our heads that we no longer experience the realness of things.

The work of Isa van Lier (Amsterdam, 1996) consists of paintings, ceramic sculptures and installations. The artworks question the boundaries between form and non-form with the aim of trying to understand concepts such as hierarchy, ratio and the body. Japanese culture and its ancient wisdoms are an important source of inspiration for her work.
