Starting as painter in the ‘70s, Fransje Killaars (1959, the Netherlands) decided to use textiles as her main medium after a trip to India. She was inspired by the use of color in Indian architecture and clothes, and from that moment onwards Killaars developed her own unique palette in which color is joined with space, architecture, fashion and humanity.
The installation 'Le Paravan' consists of panels which Killaars adorned with her characteristic lengths of fabrics. The panels function as the building blocks for a new space in which the beholder is overwhelmed by color
