Annaleen Louwes
I guess I’m always trying to see: why are they in here, while I’m out there?
Annaleen Louwes via De Volkskrant, 2017
The work of Annaleen Louwes (1959, Netherlands) explores the grey area between what we regard as normal and abnormal. She is fascinated by those who manage to survive in the most diverse circumstances, and the way in which this is revealed by their body language. As photographer, Louwes tries to grasp the fragility, the transience and the emptiness of existence.
