Ahmad Mallah
Displacement and diaspora are central to my work, not only as personal history but as shared human experience.
Ahmad Mallah (1990, Syria) is a Palestinian artist who was born and raised in Syria. His work is shaped by experiences of war, displacement, and statelessness, exploring how these realities affect identity, belonging, and the body. Growing up with his Mother's warning that "the walls have ears," Mallah learned to remain silent. Today, he uses art to give form to memories, grief, resilience, and the search for freedom, creating space for both personal testimony and shared human experiences.
Mallah works across painting, drawing, performance, and installation. Faces and bodies often appear fragmented, reflecting the impact of conflict, exile, and inherited trauma. Alongside these themes, his work celebrates care, queer intimacy, and chosen communities as sources of strength and belonging.
