Pink Happy Sausages, 2009

The carpet Pink Happy Sausages (2009) by Hans Hovy (1953, Netherlands) features a playful pattern of oversized sausages on strings, seemingly going in all directions, which enhances the view from above. With its soft and colorful strength, this carpet adds an extra dimension to the salon decor of this room.

Hovy creates installations, sculptures, drawings, as well as carpets and jewelry. He effortlessly switches between different disciplines, choosing the medium that best suits his question or exploration. Hovy’s work often lies at the intersection of contrasts; playful and strict at the same time, and hard and heavy materials that appear soft and light.
