Charlotte Schleiffert is inspired by the harshness of life, as can be seen on photographs, but also in her direct environment. Her work is provocative but never vulgar. Her heroines are exotic types such as pin ups, hard rockers, pop idols and warriors; a mixture of people she meets on the streets and celebrities from television, magazines and books. Her work has a spontaneous, dynamic and fierce charisma which is not only caused by the powerful images and the strong colour contrasts, but also by the different materials which she easily mixes together. Both her painting techniques are tough and raw, real human emotions are a central them in her work. Schleiffert pains the true human-being in full.
