Sjoerd Knibbeler
What excites me is to find and capture a balance between the visible reference and the invisible subject. That search consists of adding and taking away elements in a set and shaping them in such a way that the function of the camera shifts from being the least capable tool to capture the wind to being the most perfect.

Sjoerd Knibbeler’s work (1981, Weert) is inspired by subjects such as flying, aerodynamics and climatology. In collages, objects and video installations he investigates his own approach to these complicated processes. His camera is always the starting point of his works. Knibbeler constructs and experiments with the natural phenomena and presents them as newly created objects.
