Rosemin Hendriks
I make self-portraits because I don't want to be responsible for the similarities between the portrait and the person or thing, for things such as: does it look like it or doesn’t it look like it.

Rosemin Hendriks (1968, Velp) takes herself as the starting point for her drawings. She photographs herself at different times and in all kinds of moods. She then studies the photos thoroughly. Hendriks goes in search of what is behind the snapshots and records this on paper with charcoal.
