Reinoud van Vught
I paint the things in-between. Things coming into being, things falling apart, but never things the way we truly perceive them.
Reinoud van Vught via Naturen, 2007
Reinoud van Vught (1960, the Netherlands) paints nature as a product of time: a multitude of materials, structures and processes interacting endlessly, spawning systems of ever increasing complexity. Neither order nor chaos outweighs the other in Van Vught’s paintings and it’s this interplay which grants his work the beauty of an impenetrable, yet unthreatening, complexity.
