Per Bak Jensen

In a way, I’m searching for the intangible, the unattainable, something that lies just beyond the immediately visible, but something that I take to be reality.

Only rarely does one find humans in the photographs by Per Bak Jensen (1949, Denmark). What Bak Jensen shows us is a world full of quiet certitudes, landscapes, shapes and objects untroubled by interpretation—timeless and inviolably complete. They’re unedited photographs in which, as the artist puts it, “the being of places” rests solidified.
