Massimo Vitali (1944, Italy) became known for his panoramic landscapes, such as overcrowded beaches and parks, but also discotheques. In his work he plays with contemporary forms of (mass) recreation and their accompanying social codes. In his depiction of the multitude, humanity loses its individuality. A body transforms into the body, an average fracturing the veneer of the everyday by displaying it.
