Hamid el Kanbouhi
Symbolism and the categorical need to be discredited, both on an institutional level as well as in our visual language.

The human figure holds a central place in El Kanbouhi's work. He draws inspiration from everyday situations, strange encounters, and experiences from his personal life. Starting with a sketch or drawing, he builds imaginative worlds where chance, playfulness, and a quest for the unknown are the driving forces. The versatility of his art—drawings, paintings, clay sculptures, and performances—is an outgrowth of this spontaneous way of working.
