Clara Spilliaert (1993, Japan) weaves personal experiences, historical reflections, and elements of nature into her artistic practice. After seven years of drawing diaries intensively, she expanded her work to include murals, ceramic sculptures, and site-specific installations. Her practice explores the role of symbols in shaping culture and examines the relationship between nature and the body.

Motifs drawn from animals, plants, human anatomy, and sexuality appear throughout her works, revealing her ongoing curiosity about the natural world. Her interest in local histories often becomes apparent in works created for public spaces, where she engages with religion, folkloric tales, mythology, and the symbolic language they contain.
