Annegret Kellner

To be able to translate human actions, feelings and thoughts, I look a lot at plants.

Annegret Kellner (1979, Germany) creates works that highlight the fragile relationship between humans and nature. Her practice often takes plants as its starting point, using them as both material and metaphor. By subtly altering shapes, colors, and materials, Kellner reveals how human intervention distorts the natural world, while also pointing to its beauty and vulnerability. Her works serve as gentle but urgent reminders that our way of bending nature to our needs, has lasting consequences.

Kellner works across sculpture, photography, and installation.  By framing nature in ways that seem at once beautiful and damaged, Kellner asks us to reflect on our dependence on the environment and whether our concern for it is adequate. Her art becomes a quiet but powerful call to awareness, urging us to take nature seriously.
