Alexander Lichtveld (1953, the Netherlands) is a ceramics sculptor who has researched his chosen material and its corresponding techniques to such an degree that coincidence has almost entirely been removed from the equation. It is this extraordinarily precise application of his craft with which the artist causes our perception and interpretation to falter. The result is a heavy, solid, geometric style, celebrating the silence that not-knowing brings.
