In The Family (2023), a patchwork of images is brought together. Klaas Rommelaere’s (1986, Belgium) tapestry is inspired by the documentary series Can’t Get You Out Of My Head (2021) by Adam Curtis and the film Naked (1993) by Mike Leigh, which explore themes such as individualism, collectivism, conspiracy theories, national myths, and artificial intelligence. The Johnny series, of which this work is a part, combines impressions from these films with personal photographs, creating a new visual narrative that seemingly connects different worlds.
