Frank Haverman’s (1967, the Netherlands) studio for Architectural Art, Design and Urban Space makes strategic site-specific interventions through which the human body can relate to the outside world from within its own secure environment. In a world where everything is about efficiency, speed and standardization, Havermans delivers innovative solutions that cater both to the individual and to the collective. Commissioned by the AkzoNobel Art Foundation for the Art Space, ‘KAPKAR/ WS1P- AN’ redefines this communal area giving it new meaning. Executed with our coatings, Haverman’s installation represents a unique fusion of common and personal ground. Suspended between two pillars is a one-person workspace. A place of seclusion and shelter, yet in full view of and open to all. ‘KAPKAR/ WS1P- AN’ is truly a work place in the air.
