Conveyor series "Glam", 2017

Zoro Feigl (1983, the Netherlands) uses everyday materials to create poetic moving machines, thereby blurring the lines between art and engineering. This piece, jokingly referred to by him as his “moving Rothko,” is part of the 'Conveyor' series. Locked into movement yet constantly changing, similar to the world we live in, this work seems to be alive and simultaneously fragile. “Moving parts tend to break down and not do what you want them to do” says Feigl, thus touching upon the fallibility of man-made technology and mankind’s constant yearning for renewal and progress.
