Pieter Vermeersch’ (1973, Belgium) paintings stretch beyond the piece’s border, invisible to the eye, yet part of a far-reaching, perhaps infinite field; a color gradient changes into light, dissolves into space and becomes part of it. It’s a meticulously crafted ploy playing upon our senses. Though it may seem simple, the skill underlying his work shows itself with scrutiny.
