Iris Kensmil draws inspiration from diverse sources, including the visual cultures of Africa and the Caribbean, feminist theory and Black traditions. Her disciplines comprise painting, drawing, printing and installations that explore themes such as identity, history and social justice. The complex and many-layered compositions in her work invite the observer to consider a number of possible interpretations.
