Buhlebezwe Siwani

Buhlebezwe Siwani's (1987, South Africa) oeuvre comprises photography, performance, sculpture, painting and installations, and tackles questions such as black female identity, colonialism and male-dominated society. Siwani is an initiated Sangoma (spiritual healer); rituals and the relationship between Christianity and African spirituality feature regularly in her work and performances.
