Ansuya Blom

Flesh, the tissue and fluids from which our mind grows, and in which it moves and develops are an important theme in the work of Ansuya Blom (1956, the Netherlands). Meaning often maintains an illusory permanence, but Blom’s paintings prove it to be inexorably linked to impermanent matter. The viewer is confronted with value redefined. That very same value—perhaps the most human of all—is never denied, however, and is instead elevated in all its transience.
